- Hey Friends,
Hey Friends,
I hope you are hanging in there. What's keeping me going is keeping social media time to a minimum and being around other people. If you're looking to be in community with folks I have a few upcoming shows to tell you about, as well as a few other pieces of news.
Backfence
I’m super excited to be part of the next Backfence show Saturday March 15th at Powell’s books!
I’ll be telling the story of taking my AC Dickson: eBay PowerSeller show to a modern dance festival in Nottingham, England and accidentally invited dozens of hooligans. And I might just play the opening walk-on video from the show!
It’s a great lineup, the theme is Am I the Villain, it’s ages 17 and up, and there will be drinks! Tickets here. Oh, and I have a code for $4 off - it’s andrewstory - all lowercase, one world. It’ll work through this Wednesday, March 5th at 11pm.

Pearl is at it again. Selling cookies to work on her leadership, salesmanship and financial literacy. She is raising money to go to Europe next summer through Girl Scouts — which sales also benefit, and is an organization as progressive and inclusive as Boy Scouts isn’t.
Yes, of course you can still order cookies! If you are in Portland, you can pick up or we can deliver. If you’re out of town you can have them shipped if you order off of her website.
But sales end March 15th, so get your order in beforehand.

Upcoming Portland Events
If you like storytelling and you’re in Portland, there are so many opportunities to see shows! Here are a few upcoming shows I won’t be in, but can absolutely vouch for.
March 20th - The Tiniest Show - a basement show hosted by Travis Ables - and I will be in the April 16th show!
March 21st - The Pants on Fire doubleheader - 2 shows in 1 night. And the first is the rare all ages storytelling show!
March 23rd - The Moth GrandSlam - at the Aladdin. Produced by my good friend Dave Williams and hosted by the amazing Meg Ferrill.
And for PICA fans and supporters of the arts - a couple dates to consider.
March 22nd - The opening reception of ja’ / buuts’ / t’aan (Water / Smoke / Word) a 5 channel video installation which will run March 13-May 31/
June 7th - Mark your calendar for the Gala. We’ll be back on the Portland Spirit!
Anything else?
Why yes, a few more things. I wrote a memoir of sorts and independently published it near the end of 2023. And a platform called Sherperd.com reached out. They ask writers to share 5 books they recommend related to their own book. So I did it and wrote my own little article which you can read here.
Oh, and last newsletter I mentioned that I’m officially offering life coaching as I continue to develop my AC Dickson: Life Coach show. You can sign up through Mt. Freelance here, or get in touch directly if you’re interested.
Take care,
Andrew
