Well, January was terrible

It was just so bad. And so long. And so very difficult between the fires that ravaged Los Angeles sending friends and family evacuating from their homes, while waking up every morning to learn what new freedoms and equalities have been stripped from us, causing so many to fear for their safety and security. And on a personal note, I spent part of the month sick with the flu, and then mourning the loss of a dear family member. I have really enjoyed writing this newsletter and in fact often write it weeks in advance. This is the first time I've completely rewritten it, as everything has changed in a few short weeks. I'm going to flip the script here, and some share some positives and things I'm looking forward to. But I also want to call out how truly terrifying thing feel, and share that if you're scared or in despair, I'm so sorry, please know that we're in this together.

It's 2025!

I can still remember being a kid and marveling at the idea that I’d be alive in the year 2001. All of a sudden it's 2025. It really kind of blows my mind. (Deep contemplative pause). And... a couple updates to share this month.
